Strong parent–teacher communication is one of the most important foundations for a child’s academic success and personal growth. When parents and teachers work together as partners, they create a supportive and consistent environment that helps children thrive both in school and at home.
At Taroom State School parents and teachers use the following methods of communication most suited to the purpose-
- Face-to-face (by appointment is desirable for important matters)
- Email
- Class DoJo
- Phone
First point of contact for primary students is their class teacher. For secondary students this is their form teacher.
For matters that require the principal's attention or cannot be resolved at the class level, parents are encouraged to contact the school Office to discuss the matter by appointment. A list of email contacts are provided below.
A Meet and Greet session is held in early Term 1 by all teachers to meet new parents and share important information about the school year and program.
Parent-Teacher meetings to discuss academic progress occur in early Terms 2 and 4.
